Client challenge
Deliver the first-ever persistent music experience that welcomes fans into a 24/7, 365-day artist-themed world where they can build and perform their own music festival in the metaverse.
Execution
The Chainsmokers, Columbia Records and Sony Music Entertainment partnered with Gamefam to develop and launch Festival Tycoon, the first-ever persistent music experience on Roblox.
To celebrate the launch, The Chainsmokers hosted an exclusive virtual concert that aired hourly during the weekend. The show featured a five-song set from their album So Far So Good.
Leading up to the concert, players could shop for merch, complete a scavenger hunt and explore a Festival Tycoon portal to complete missions and earn avatar items.
In Festival Tycoon, players can build their own music festival with pyrotechnics, merch booths, backstage VIP areas, amusement park rides and more.
