Disney needed to find a way to put its Moana franchise top of mind for Gen Z ahead of its sequel launch. So how can they tease the movie and build buzz ahead of the release?

Ignite buzz for Moana 2, and create lifelong fans of the franchise

Execution

Gamefam once again partnered with The Walt Disney Company, OMG23 & WildBrain, bringing the highly-anticipated Moana 2 to Fortnite ahead of its premiere in one of the most in-depth brand integrations on Fortnite Creative to date.

From early November 2024 through early December 2024, Gen Z players were immersed in Moana’s magical world of Oceania as it took over our hit Fortnite game “Obby But You’re On A Bike HD.”

  • Met and interacted with their favorite Moana characters, as well as the new ones

  • Navigated canoes through a Pacific Islander-themed obstacle course

  • Unlocked Moana-themed virtual items for their avatars including the beloved rooster Hei Hei

Disney dove headfirst into Fortnite and we’re thrilled to have led the charge with them, especially following the massive success of our Inside Out 2 campaign.
